Healthy High Protein Banana & Chocolate Porridge Oats Recipe

I've got a super fast and nutritious Porridge recipe. The porridge here is super creamy, tasty and filling. It will give you the energy you need to hit the gym or to have a super fresh morning. At 400 cals, it's packed with 9g protein and lots of vitamins.


  • 40g Porridge Oats (preferably organic jumbo oats)
  • 2 cups water
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp (about 20g) 100% coconut oil
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbsp (10g) raw cacao powder
  • 20g Canadian maple syrup (about 1 tbsp)
  • Optional: 3g hemp seeds and 3g sunflower seeds


  1. Oats, water & pinch of salt go in a saucepan over low heat. Keep it on a rolling soft simmer and stir occasionally till you get a creamy consistency. Don't skip the pinch of salt! I know it sounds counterproductive but it will really enhance the chocolate flavour and give it depth
  2. Coconut oil and bananas go in a frying pan on super low heat, let them caramelise 
  3. After about 10 minutes add your cacao to the porridge and mix well before serving
  4. Add your toppings and you're set!
