I've got a super fast and nutritious Porridge recipe. The porridge here is super creamy, tasty and filling. It will give you the energy you need to hit the gym or to have a super fresh morning. At 400 cals, it's packed with 9g protein and lots of vitamins.
Ingredients
- 40g Porridge Oats (preferably organic jumbo oats)
- 2 cups water
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp (about 20g) 100% coconut oil
- 1 banana
- 2 tbsp (10g) raw cacao powder
- 20g Canadian maple syrup (about 1 tbsp)
- Optional: 3g hemp seeds and 3g sunflower seeds
Method
- Oats, water & pinch of salt go in a saucepan over low heat. Keep it on a rolling soft simmer and stir occasionally till you get a creamy consistency. Don't skip the pinch of salt! I know it sounds counterproductive but it will really enhance the chocolate flavour and give it depth
- Coconut oil and bananas go in a frying pan on super low heat, let them caramelise
- After about 10 minutes add your cacao to the porridge and mix well before serving
- Add your toppings and you're set!
